Notes for Member Planets about the Climate War Journals known as The Chronicles of a Planet’s End

On July 17, 2032, the final gate closed on the Planet Earth after millennia of interstellar travel across the galaxies. The Sentinel planet was destroyed, the Beacon was gone, and the Earth enters into a phase of reconstruction. One-eighth of the population survived a brutal set of wars over five years. Of that eighth, all but one-sixth were evacuated. Earth’s civilization is a shell of what it had been. Even the most extensive histories out of LA765 could not have anticipated the damage. A series of journals were salvaged out of the Sentinel library describing the planet’s end. After its five-hundred-year reconstructions, Earth chose to make them public. The keeper of the journals bequeathed them to the central human government as a historical record of Earth’s fall in hopes to avoid a repetition of the same.

The journals are divided by author. The number of journals of each author depended on their personal writing style and involvement in those crucial years. The list below provides an initial list of the journals donated. The filing number has been preserved from the now extinct Sentinel libraries.

Emily Banister journals her transition to becoming Earth’s minor Sentinel and her fight for Earth’s survival.

The Jasper Chronicles

Tristan Jasper was originally seen as an insignificant leader of the now defunct United States. His perspective gives a window into the true mastermind of the Climate Wars.

The Alexander Chronicles

This is considered the jewel of the collection. Alexander, born Darcy Darwin Alexander, is known to be the brilliant genius responsible for Earth’s destruction. His writings show a very different mind than the one demonized. A man, desperate to save those he loved, created an unsustainable world. His legacy is profound. The universe still utilizes much of this man’s technology, including the Alexander Tunnels that permit space travel across the galaxies.

The Geldenfred Chronicles

Remi Geldenfred is the security agent, responsible for finding the journals and convincing the keeper of the journals to donate them to the human race. She graciously allowed us to publish her journals during her lifetime.

The Ferringstone Chronicles

A window into the mind of Julieta Ferringstone was an unexpected surprise in the collection. In the legends of the era, she was the one they fought to save. A mix of archangel and demon, her legend became a verb. To ferringstone is to throw everything you are for someone you love. The last of Earth’s gatekeepers, she provided an essential role in the survival of the human race.

The Montenegro Chronicles

Andres “Drew” Montenegro brought humanity together from its darkest moment and created the modern planetary alliance. His journals during those days bring unique insight into his intimate connection to the players and the heartbreaking choices he made to help humanity survive.

The Mueller Chronicles

Samuel Mueller is a myth. After five hundred years, historians across the universe still attempt to make sense of this figure. He graciously included a limited number of journals covering those specific years of the climate wars. He refused to be interviewed when contacted for this exhibition.

The Roth Chronicles

Edward Roth was a caricature of the twenty-first century. His media creations in the world of science fiction have now been lost. Research showed he was a producer of stories. As the climate wars hit, his relationship with the events changed. His journals are his desperate effort to maintain the story of this time.

The Tamayo Chronicles

Raul Tamayo was an interesting choice to be included in this collection. His relationship to the climate wars was negligible. He began his life on Earth but spent most of his later years negotiating on behalf of Earth to find suitable planets to emigrate to. The planetary system that now holds Earth’s people is due because of his work.

The Jules Chronicles

Who would have thought that someone like Miriam Jules would be thought of as a hero of the Climate Wars? Her destruction of Tristan Jasper is said to mark the end of the Wars. She did what no one else was willing to do. With this action, she permitted Alexander to be neutralized and the Exodus to be complete. Her journals dictate a woman who never set out to be a hero, but like so many others of her time, she became the epitome of the word.

The Martin Chronicles

Amanda Martin didn’t survive the first years of the climate war. She was already in her eighties when they began. Her death handed the organization and infrastructure for Sentinel travel to Andres Montenegro. Her journey to create a secret interstellar organization capable of saving the human race is an essential part of these histories.

The Eddington Smythe Chronicles

Geoffrey Eddington Smythe was the backbone of human history for three thousand years. Only a few of his journals were handed to the historical society. The society has requested funding for an expedition to find Emily Banister. It is said she has the complete collection of his journals. If found, it would be the most complete first-person history of the human race on Earth ever found.
